Cold pressed rapeseed oil made at Merstone from oil seed rape grown on the Island. Suitable for all culinary uses, the oil has a pleasant nutty flavour and a good yellow colour. It has a high smoking temperature so can be used for roasting and frying, and as an alternative to olive oil. Rapeseed oil is cold pressed from untreated seeds. It is pure oil, additive free and full of goodness. It has half the saturated fat of olive oil, is cholesterol free, and has high levels of Omega 3 and 6 in a ratio which suits the body’s needs and is suitable for vegetarians!

I love this oil for it's nutty taste and versatility.I have used it for breadmaking and baking, frying, roasting and stir frying. It roasts potatoes and vegtables to a good colour and mixes well with butter for shallow pan roasting.
I have been so impressed that this oil is made locally that I have given several bottles as gifts to friends on and off the Island.I am now using my fifth bottle!
